Charity Drive

Thank you to all the children who donated charity items of non-perishable foodstuff for the poor families. A generous total of 10 large boxes was collected and handed over to Sam Catulichi who represents the Knights of Da Gama, a charity organisation assisting the poor.

The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra at The Brooklyn Theatre

What a wonderful experience this was! Thank you to the parents who made it possible for their children to experience this interesting event, which was attended by 47 of the Courtney House children. Thank you to Elliot and Thomas for providing the transport to and from the theatre as well as to the following teachers who accompanied the children: Anthea; Chanél; Danielle; Demi; Deirdré; Marlize and Natasha. The children were exposed to a lot of valuable learning about the orchestra and they thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

The Sound of Music

One of our own Grade 4 students, Rebecca Wallick, shall be performing a lead role in the popular musical ‘The Sound of Music’ at Pieter Toerien’s Montecasino Theatre. We have organised a block booking of limited seats for Friday 20th April. There has already been a great response and we are looking forward to this wonderful event. We are so proud of little Rebecca and congratulate her parents and brother, Austin, on her successful achievements.

First Cycle Progress Reports

First Cycle Academic Reports for children in Reception Year to Grade 6 will be available for collection from the school office on Thursday 26 April 2018, just before the long weekend. There are three reporting cycles in the year: April; August and December.

We are thrilled to welcome Teacher Cherize back after her maternity leave and the birth of her son, Timothy, in January. Teacher Cherize shall be taking over Teacher Melanie’s Grade 1 Class. We wish Teacher Melanie well for her future happiness. Teacher Cherize is looking forward to her ‘Jungle’ themed Grade 1 group and cannot wait to get back into teaching.

We are excited to announce that Teacher Glenda will take over the Reception Year Class from Teacher Heather. We wish Teacher Heather well for her future happiness. Teacher Glenda is overjoyed to start with her new class of ‘Spectacular Sailors’, as she already knows the children well and is excited to be their teacher.
