Courtney House News – applies to children in Reception Year to Year 6

The Sound of Music

Children, who are attending the school visit to ‘The Sound of Music’ at Pieter Toerien’s Montecasino Theatre, need to be at the primary campus by 15:45 as the bus departs at 16:00. It is highly recommended that the children have an afternoon nap and rest before we leave as the show is late. Children are to be dressed in smart, formal wear or party wear as it is an evening performance. They will need a small, packed lunch which they will have at the theatre grounds at around 18:00. Thank you to the following teachers who shall be accompanying the group of 30 children: Demi; Melodie; Natasha; Claire; Danielle and Anthea. Parents are to be at the primary campus between 22:45 and 23:00 to collect their children.

First Cycle Progress Reports

First Cycle Academic Reports for children in Reception Year to Grade 6 will be available for collection from the school office on Thursday 26 April 2018, just before the long weekend. There are three reporting cycles in the year: April; August and December.

Winter Uniform

As the colder weather approaches, parents are reminded to ensure that they arrange for the correct winter uniform items. Only the official Courtney House attire or plain, navy-blue items are acceptable. Please note that children may not wear denim jeans to school. Multi-coloured jackets and jerseys are also not permitted. The uniform supplier has a variety of Courtney House items available for winter, including fleece jackets, tracksuits, jerseys, scarves and beanies. Thank you to parents who adhere to the uniform requirements and whose children are dressed neatly for school.

Extra Murals

Children have received the new extra mural schedules for Term 2. Extra mural activities will commence the week of 16 April. Please ensure that forms, together with payment, are returned to school as soon as possible.

Little Cooks and Junior Chefs Club

We were given very sad news, this week, that unfortunately, due to franchise disputes after the passing on of Althea, the popular extra mural club can no longer continue. All parents concerned have been contacted. We shall, however, keep parents informed should the situation change in any way over the next few months.
