General News – applies to all three phases
On Saturday, 12 May, all teachers from the primary and college campuses participated in in-house training and teacher workshops focusing on enhanced teaching methods. Special word of thanks is extended to Jo and Ilze for presenting the superb workshops which were valuable and highly informative, and for travelling all the way from Bloemfontein and Cape Town to present the workshops.
Relocations and Registrations
Families are asked to please notify the school offices of possible relocations which may take effect over the next few months. We have many families on waiting lists and applying for space during the next few months. This applies predominantly to embassies and international organisations.
Parents who wish to register and enrol new students for the 2019 academic year, especially those with younger siblings, are requested to process and finalise these applications as soon as possible. Many classes are full and students will need to be placed on waiting lists until space becomes available.
School Arrival Time
School officially starts at 07:50 each morning. Children and students are expected to arrive for school on time. We have noticed that many children are arriving late for school and miss out on highly important morning routines which set the structure for the rest of the school day. We appeal to parents to please ensure that children are on time for school in the mornings.

Reading a variety of books and articles, both Fiction and Non-Fiction, is crucial to a child’s well-rounded education. We encourage that children join the local community library in their area so that they can be exposed to reading from a young age. We encourage that parents provide many opportunities for children to read books and different material at home. Our school library has many books and children can take books out to read at home but we ask that parents ensure that these books are “handled with care” and returned to school clean and not-damaged. The same applies to readers that go home as part of the Individual Reading Programme for children in Grade 1 to 3. A wide variety of new books have recently been purchased by the school to aid this initiative.
Student of the Week
Each week, a child from each class is identified as “Student of the Week” for showing excellence or great progress in various areas. The children are awarded badges at line-up. Congratulations to the children who received awards for “Best Achiever at Mathematics”. This week, the award is for “Best Achiever at English”.

The school provides early morning supervision strictly from 07:00 every morning, whereby designated teachers are on early morning supervision duty. Please note that children may not enter the school property before this time, for safety and security purposes.
