Annual Renewal of Contracts for 2019

Thank you to those parents who met the deadline and have submitted their contract documents for 2019 to secure their child’s place.

Term Dates for 2018

Term 4                                1 October – 7 December 2018

Moonstone Masquerade Stage Production for children in Grades 000 – Grade 6 shall be staged at the Atterbury Theatre on the evenings of Friday 7th and Saturday 8th December 2018. A reminder that full day stage rehearsals take place on 5th and 6th December 2018.

Courtney Kids News – applies to children in Tiny Tots, Grades 000 and 00

Moonstone Masquerade

Parents are reminded to pay R 400 by 17 October for the stage production costume.

Dew Drop Photography shall be responsible for the stage production photos which include individual, group and stage photos. Parents are asked to complete the order forms and make the payment of R 200 per child by Friday 23 November 2018.

Timeless Visual Entertainment shall be responsible for the DVD of the stage production. Parents are asked to complete the order form and make the payment of R 300 per DVD ordered by Friday 23 November 2018.

Thank you to those parents who have already made payments. We appreciate the sacrifices you may be making to cover all these extra costs.

Full day stage rehearsals at the Atterbury Theatre take place on Wednesday 5th and Thursday 6th December. Transport is provided, for the children, to and from the theatre on these days. Parents are not allowed to watch these rehearsals.

Parents are reminded that children will perform on both evenings and must be available for both performances on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th December. These performances start at 18:30 and will end around 21:30. Children are expected to be dropped off at the theatre by 16:30 and collected once the performance has ended and children have been changed.

There is no school on Friday 7th December.

School Photographs

A professional school photographer shall be coming to take school photos on Thursday 25 October during the school morning. The photos shall be taken at the primary school campus. Children are to be dressed neatly for their photo.

All children will have photos taken on this day. Once all photos have been taken, parents will receive an order form with information about payment details and how to order the photos should they want them. The package includes a variety of photo sizes and is R 70 – 00 per child.

Courtney House News – applies to children in Reception Year to Year 6

International Cambridge Primary Checkpoint Examinations for Grade 6

Grade 6 students will write these examinations until the 19 October 2018. We wish them the very best. Results, from Cambridge, will only arrive between the 8th and 16th January 2019.

Uniform Suppliers

John and Sanet from Eccentry Outdoor & Leisure are the new uniform suppliers. Thank you to the many parents who came to the uniform showcase on Tuesday 9 October and placed their orders for summer uniform.

Cycle Test Results

Students in Grade 3 – 5 shall receive their cycle test results on Friday 19 October. Parents can collect these results from the school office.

Tots n’ Pots

We are thrilled to welcome Tots n’ Pots as a new cooking/baking extra mural activity at Courtney House. The children had their first session on Friday, which they thoroughly enjoyed. We hope the parents enjoyed their “Chocolate Pots” which looked deliciously decadent.

Student of the Week

Each week, a child from each class is identified as “Student of the Week” for showing excellence or great progress in various areas. The children are awarded badges at line-up. Congratulations to the children who received badges last week for “Most progress in story writing or story telling”. This week, the award is for “Most Progress in Reading/Reading Lab”.

Leadership-Adventure Camp 2019

Information packs containing details and forms for the leadership-adventure camp for 2019 were handed out during the week. Parents, who would like their children (Grade 3-6) to attend the camp at Ingwe in Plettenburg Bay and to explore the Knysna area, are requested to kindly fill out and return the forms as well as make the payment as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. The deadline for payment is Friday 2 November 2018.
