General News – applies to all students

Congratulations to South Africa – Rugby World Cup 2019

We are overjoyed and extremely proud of our South African Rugby Team for their spectacular performance at winning the Rugby World Cup 2019 in Japan on Saturday. Proud of the nation in supporting the bokke and the spirit shared. Congratulations South Africa!

Well done and congratulations to all our families from England on a superb match played and for all of England’s sterling performances during this 2019 World Cup.

On Friday, we were so proud of all the children from the pre-school, primary and senior campuses who came dressed up in their rugby gear and for showing such support of the World’s two best rugby teams in the final.

Contracts for 2020

Thank you to the parents who have submitted their child’s contracts for 2020 as well as to the parents who have been courteous enough to inform us of extensions needed due to uncertainty surrounding their extension of time in SA. Everything has been processed and taken into account.

Relocations and Withdrawals

We would like to remind parents to provide the school with sufficient notice in terms of withdrawing their child due to relocations or moving to a new school. There are quite a few students on waiting lists so if parents are aware that they may be withdrawing their child from either the primary campus or the senior campus between now and May/June 2020 that they please notify the school as soon as possible.

No Tolerance for Misconduct at School

We wish to remind parents and students of the school’s Behaviour Policies and Code of Conduct. A no tolerance approach to teasing, bullying, hate speech, theft, misconduct of any kind, use of inappropriate language or symbolism, sexual harassment and forms of disrespect towards teachers and peers will be taken, with immediate suspension and expulsion being the consequences.

The policies and code of conduct apply at school during school hours as well as during any school-related functions, evening events, special days, camps and other events which may be at different venues.

Parents are asked to read the code of conduct and school policies thoroughly and to discuss such content with their children (at age-appropriate levels of course) so as to reiterate the consequences of negative behaviour. We wish to maintain strict discipline at all our campuses and ask that parents and students comply with the requirements set out in our school policies.

National Dress on National Days

We remind all our families that children may come to school wearing their country’s traditional clothing on the National Day or Independence Day of their country.

Drop off and Collection of Children

We ask that parents are patient when waiting at the gates or waiting for parking during peak times of drop off and collection of children during mornings and afternoons.

Where we understand that parents have places to be and deadlines to meet, particularly during the afternoon peak times, we ask that parents execute patience as children cannot be taken out of extra murals before the activity has properly ended and/or taken out school lessons or extra lessons while they are still busy. Our assistant staff are doing their utmost to call children to the gate as quickly as possible to ensure the safe departure of children at our school gates.

Parents are also asked to refrain from blocking the gate by standing too close to the entrance and causing congestion.

Parents and drivers are reminded to drive carefully and cautiously when getting in and out of parking bays as there are children and pedestrians all around.

A Notice Board displaying extra mural times and other notices is displayed outside around the gate for parents to check times of activities.

Children are also expected to wear their ballet shoes from school covered with a pair of thick white or black school ankle socks. Please ensure that all items are clearly marked with your child’s name and surname.
