Courtney College News – applies to students in Year 7 to A/AS-Level

Table Tennis Tournament

On Thursday 24th April, the Courtney College Table Tennis Team embarked on their first competitive table tennis match against another school. Under the Leadership of Captain Asvidu and Vice Captain Shalom , Courtney College faced our neighbouring school, Afrikaans Seuns Hoër, in a nail biting battle.

Afrikaans Seuns hoër, who has been playing table tennis for the last 18 years, ensured that the school hall was filled with the sound of ping-pong balls pounding against the tables. Although ping-pong balls were flying and tension was very high for some of the college boys, who faced senior students with much more confidence and experience in the sport at a competitive level, the Courtney College Team performed exceptionally well.

At the end of the tournament, after almost two hours of sweat and concentration, Courtney College managed to draw all their single matches against Afrikaans Hoër Skool boys. After such a great start, we are proud of you, Courtney College Table Tennis Team and very excited to see what the rest of the season holds.

Next Week’s Matches are as follows:

  • Afrikaans Meisies Hoër:  Monday 14:00 – 16:00
  • Pretoria Boys High:  Tuesday 14:00 – 16:00
