Cambridge International Examinations
We wish all our students, who are currently sitting their Cambridge International Examinations for the Primary Checkpoints; Checkpoints; IGCSE and A/AS-Levels, the very best of luck.
We extend best wishes to Teacher Debbie and Teacher Loriana, who will be leaving at the end of the year. Teacher Debbie will be relocating to Johannesburg with her husband and we thank her for her exceptional contributions over the last 7 years. Teacher Loriana has decided to take on employment much closer to her home and she is thanked for the lovely contributions she has made over the last year and a half.

Reception Year Text Books for 2018
Parents of children in Grade 00 are reminded to place their orders for the Cambridge Text Books for Reception Year. The orders and payments must be received by no later than Friday 10 November 2017. Thank you to those parents who have already done so.

Classical Music Concert
Teacher Polina’s piano students performed at The Brooklyn Theatre in a classical music concert on Saturday 14th October and made their teachers extremely proud. The music concert involved music students of various ages from schools such as Waterkloof Primary, Crawford Pretoria, Afrikaanse Hoër Meisieskool as well as the Russian Embassy. Congratulations to the following children from Courtney House for their magnificent piano recitals:

End of Year Examinations
Children in Grade 3 to 6 will receive their end-of-year examination timetables during the week. These examinations start on Wednesday 8 November and end on Tuesday 21 November.
Student of the Week
Each week, a child from each class is identified as “Student of the Week” for showing excellence or great progress in various areas. This week’s award will be for “Most Creative Story-Writing or Story-Telling”.
Hispanic Cultural Celebration
On Wednesday 25 October, coupled with Entrepreneur’s Day, the children will have a Hispanic-Spanish Cultural Celebration at school, whereby they will learn more about the History of the Hispanic Countries, South and Central America and the important contributions made by these countries to society. Children will have a civvies or ‘dress-up” day reflecting South America. We look forward to seeing lovely, bright colours depicting rainforests, fruit, chocolate, cocoa and the vibrant lifestyle of Latin-America.
The next Art Theme, to be carried over the next two weeks, is based on modern art movements made famous by French Artist, Paul Cézanne, in the form of Cubism Art.
A swimming gala is being organised for later this year, sometime between 23rd November and 6th December, whereby parents will be invited to watch. As soon as details have been finalised, parents will be informed.

Wednesdays Reception Year and Grades 1, 2 and 3
Extra Murals for Term 4
Term 4 extra mural activities will start during the week of 16th October and will continue until the end of November. Children have received their extra mural schedules. Please send completed forms and payment to Thelma, at the school office.
Text Book Orders for 2018
Parents have received the text book order forms for 2018. Completed order forms and payment is due by no later than 10 November 2017.
Ingwe Adventure Camp
We thank the parents for making the first payments for camp. The next payment is due by 5 December 2017.
Entrepreneur’s Days Coming Up
To accommodate examinations, both external and internal, the following dates for entrepreneur’s day now apply:

Children in Grade 2 to 6 may participate in a Science Fair to be held on Tuesday 28th November during the school morning. Children will receive more information and details in the new term.
Prize Giving Ceremony
A Prize Giving Ceremony for children in Reception Year to Grade 6 will take place on Tuesday 5th December starting at around 17:30.
Final Academic Reports
Parents can collect the final academic reports from the school office on Thursday 7th December between 07:30 and 16:00.

Cambridge International Examinations
Examinations have already begun. Please take note of the details:
The following Cambridge external exams will take place:
Grade 8 Checkpoint: 9-20 October. These students return to school for IGCSE 2019 on Monday 30 October.
IGCSE 2017 and AS/A 2017: Some papers start on 2 October and the last paper is on 16 November.
IGCSE students return to school on 17 January 2018 to start AS/A 2019.
The following internal exams will take place:
Grade 7: Revision classes will take place during the first week of school, 9-13 October. Exams will take place 16-27 October.
These students return to school for Grade 8 on Monday 30 October.
IGCSE 2018: 9-27 October. These students return to school Monday 30 October to continue IGCSE 2018.
AS/A 2018: 9-27 October. These students return to school Monday 30 October to continue AS/A 2018.
