“Castles and Caves” Welcoming Party
The children in Grade 00 from Courtney Kids as well as the new Reception Year children for 2018, were treated to a welcoming party at the primary school campus on Monday 6th November.

This was a wonderful opportunity for the children to meet the current Reception Year children and to be introduced to the “Big School” campus as well as meet their new teacher, Teacher Heather, who will be taking over as Reception Year teacher as of January 2018, and some of the new friends who will be in their class next year.

The current Grade 6 students of Courtney House were given the project of organising and arranging the event.
They were given a budget from which to work and had to plan and prepare the party from shopping to packing party packs.

They had to entertain the little ones and design their own games and activities to keep the little kids busy with. They made their own piñatas, “pin-the-tail-on-the-dragon” as well as a Treasure Cave filled with magical treasure boxes.

The theme of the party was “Castles and Caves” and the Grade 6’s thoroughly enjoyed dressing up and getting into character.

There were pirates, jesters, a janitor, mermaid, unicorn, cave-woman, magical genie, and of course a King.

Everything was a grand success!
