Charity Collection of Baby Formula
We are supporting the British High Commission with a charity collection to support them in collecting baby formula for lesser privileged families as well as organisations caring for abandoned babies. Any brand or type of baby formula is acceptable. Donations can be handed in at the school offices before 30 November. We thank you, in advance, as we know this time of the year is a financially straining one.
End of Year
School closes officially, for students, on Friday 8 December 2017 at 12:00. School reopens for the next academic year on 17 January 2018.
Please take note that all three campuses as well as school offices will be closed completely between 16 December 2017 and 10 January 2018.
Parents and students are reminded to view recent events and presentations on the website www.courtney.co.za under the classroom showcase link for each phase. Photos and interesting information are posted regularly. Grandparents and relatives living abroad can also see what the children are doing and enjoy some of the variety of events that are available to view.

Parents must take note that all extra mural activities for 2017 will end on Thursday 30 November.
Pre-School Prize Giving
The Courtney Kids Prize Giving Ceremony will take place on Thursday 30 November at 17:30 at the pre-school campus.

Parents can collect their child’s report on Thursday 7 December 2017.
Courtney House News – applies to children in Reception Year to Year 6
Children in Reception Year to Grade 6 will participate in a swimming gala at Hillcrest Swimming Pool on Tuesday 5 December 2017. The gala will take place from 09:00 am. till 13:00 pm. Parents and other family members are invited to come along and watch. More information will be provided to parents.
Prize Giving Ceremony Moved
Due to the swimming gala now taking place on 5 December, Prize Giving has been moved to Monday 4 December 2017 at 17:30.
We look forward to the Courtney Science Fair to be held on Tuesday 28th November during the school morning. The fair will take the form of a “professional conference” whereby participants will each have a chance to present their Science Experiment and Findings to the panel of judges as well as the audience. Parents are invited to come along and watch the presentation from 10:30 till 12:30. Some interesting topics are being presented and we are excited about the enthusiasm shown.
Student of the Week
Each week, a child from each class is identified as “Student of the Week” for showing excellence or great progress in various areas. Congratulations to those children who received their awards for “Most Progress in Physical Education”. This week’s award will be for “Improved Diligence and Work Ethic”.
Ingwe Forest Adventure Camp in Plettenburg Bay
We remind parents that the next payment is due by 5 December 2017. There are 50 children who are signed up and who will be participating in this leadership, teambuilding camp which aims to focus strongly on environmental education and conservation awareness.
The children in the Blue Topaz Team will have their entrepreneur’s day on Thursday 30th November.
Final Academic Reports
Parents can collect the final academic reports from the school office on Thursday 7th December between 07:30 and 16:00.

Homeroom Challenge Winners
Congratulations to the AS/A Level homeroom class who were the winners of the competition held at the College for creating the best and most effective name and slogan for their group. We also thank Teacher Morgainne for her input and guidance. The AS/A Level group will celebrate their victory with a picnic at the park on Tuesday 21 November.
Student Well-Being Facilitator
Thank you to parents showing interest with regard to their children doing aptitude tests and career guidance with Johan, our student well-being facilitator. Teacher Linda is compiling a list and scheduling time for the students with Johan. With only three weeks of school left, please be assured that we will continue to assist students as soon as school reopens in January 2018.
