School closes at 12:00 on Friday 22 June for the winter holiday. Aftercare supervision will be available, as usual, until 17:00 on this day. School reopens on Monday 16 July.
Please take note that all three school offices and campuses will be closed from close of business on Friday 22 June until Monday 2 July 2018.
Long Weekend in August
There is no school on Thursday 9 August and Friday 10 August 2018. The 9th of August is celebrated as National Women’s Day which is a Public Holiday (Bank Holiday) in South Africa. School will resume on Monday 13 August.

Courtney Kids News – applies to children in Tiny Tots, Grades 000 and 00
2-Litre Cold Drink Bottles
Thank you for sending empty 2-litre plastic cold drink bottles to school. Please continue to send more bottles from home.
Weekly Tuck Shop
A small tuck shop will be available to the children at Courtney Kids every Friday. Proceeds will be used towards the stage production. Parents are reminded to not exceed R10 per week and children are not obliged to bring money every Friday.
Dress Up Day
Friday 15th June is Dress Up Day: The theme for this Dress Up Day is “Go for Gold”. Children must wear any clothing or accessories with the colour Gold.
The children from Courtney Kids will visit the Primary Campus on Wednesday 20 June to join in the entrepreneur’s day and support the young merchants at their sale. Please send money (not exceeding R20) with your child.
Parents are invited to attend our termly “Tea Day” mornings on Thursday 21 June and Friday 22 June from 07:00 – 08:30. Come enjoy a cup of tea and have a look at your child’s work.

Courtney House News – applies to children in Reception Year to Year 6
Children in Grade 3 to 6 continue with their Mid-Year Examinations. School continues as usual, after each exam session. We wish our students the very best and look forward to their great success.
On Friday 15 June, children can purchase a plain doughnut and choose from a variety of toppings to decorate their doughnut. There will be a winner for the best decoration from Junior (Reception Year – Grade 2) and Senior (Grade 3 – 6) Divisions. Doughnuts will be sold at R12 each and include the decorative toppings. In addition, to commemorate Youth Day, children can also wear civvies (ordinary clothes of their choice) on this day.
Children can bring in old newspapers which will be used in the making of props and stage décor for Moonstone Masquerade. These can be brought to the school office. Thank you to those children who have already brought newspapers in.
Student of the Week
Each week, a child from each class is identified as “Student of the Week” for showing excellence or great progress in various areas. The children are awarded badges at line-up. Congratulations to the children who received awards for “Most Neatly Dressed Student”. This week, the award is for “Most Enthusiastic Student”.
Changes to the School Uniform Supplier
Please take note that we are in the process of changing school uniform suppliers. For this reason, Amy Pienaar from RP Clothing will deliver the last of processed orders this week. There will be NO Uniform Shop Sale this Thursday during the school morning.
“Save-the-Rhino’ Themed Week
The week of 17 July – 24 July 2018, at Courtney House, is dedicated to “Save-the-Rhino”. Presentations, included one by Teacher Jo, will take place at school. Children will be engaged in art projects dedicated to draw awareness to this desperate cause. There will also be exquisite and hand-adorned rhino collectibles for sale (prices ranging between R250 and R450) to assist rhino conservation but also aid local rural communities who make the rhino collectibles as a means of sustaining themselves.
Parents are asked to submit the completed forms, if their child is to participate, as soon as possible so that planning can begin.
