Start of Term 4
School reopens on Monday 1st of October for Term 4. We wish all our families a lovely spring holiday.
Annual Renewal of Contracts for 2019
Family Envelopes, containing annual renewal of contract documents and updated school policy documents for the 2019 academic year, were sent home with children last week. Please check your child’s bag for these envelopes. All documents must be completed, signed and submitted to the school offices by no later than Friday 12 October to secure your child’s place for 2019. This only applies to current students.
Sick Students
Parents are urged to ensure that children who are sick and not fit for school are kept home and taken to a doctor. Many children arrive at school with extreme colds and tummy bugs as well as fever and/or other infectious symptoms and end up spreading the germs and viruses. A doctor’s note is required should a child not be well enough to write an examination.

Moonstone Masquerade Stage Production for children in Grades 000 – Grade 6 shall be staged at the Atterbury Theatre on the evenings of Friday 7th and Saturday 8th December 2018. A reminder that full day stage rehearsals take place on 5th and 6th December 2018.

Tea Mornings
Parents, who attended the tea morning, are thanked and their interest in their child’s work is appreciated.
Moonstone Masquerade
Parents are reminded to pay R 400 by 17 October for the stage production costume. More information, concerning production photographs; DVDs and Tickets, shall be made available to parents next term.
School Photographs
A professional school photographer shall be coming to take school photos on Thursday 25 October during the school morning. This applies to all children at the pre-school as well as children in Reception Year to Grade 6 whose parents opt for this offer. The photos shall be taken at the primary school campus. The package includes a variety of photo sizes and is R 70 – 00 per child. Information and order forms shall be handed out in the new term.
Swimming
Swimming will start during the first week of Term 4. Children in Tiny Tots, Grade 000 and 00 will have swimming on Thursday mornings. Swimming runs from 2 October and concludes on 15 November 2018.

Cycle Tests Postponed
Due to many children reporting sick and absent from school, the cycle tests had to be cancelled and postponed to the first week of October. Children in Grade 3 to 5 shall now write their cycle tests as follows:
Wednesday 3 October Languages and Geography
Thursday 4 October History and ICT Theory (Grades 4 & 5) or Integrated Studies (Grade 3)
Friday 5 October Science
Children who were not at school to write the Math and English papers shall write these on Tuesday 2 October and Friday 5 October.
Swimming Season
Swimming resumes during the first week of October. Parents are reminded to purchase plain, navy-blue lycra swimwear from local retail stores such as: Woolworths, Edgars, Mr Price Sport and Sportsman’s Warehouse. Girls are to wear a one-piece, full swimming costume. Boys are to wear swim shorts. Swim caps are essential.
Swimming classes are as follows:
Tuesdays Grades 5, 4, 2 and Reception Year
Wednesdays Grade 6, 3, and Grade 1
Swimming runs from 2 October and concludes on 15 November 2018.
International Cambridge Primary Checkpoint Examinations for Grade 6
These international examinations have been confirmed to start on Monday 8 October and students will write until the 19 October 2018. Information packs containing important information pertaining to these examinations have been provided to parents. We wish our Grade 6 students the very best for their final examinations and extend much support as they make final preparations.
New Uniform Suppliers
John and Sanet from Eccentry Outdoor & Leisure are the new uniform suppliers. There will be a summer uniform sale at Courtney House on Tuesday 9 October between 07:00 and 14:30 for parents who would like to order and/or purchase summer uniform items. Cash payments can be made on the day. Alternatively, a card facility will be available. A cash deposit shall be required if parents are to make an EFT payment.
