International Day – Saturday, 14 September 2019 – Important Information
Tickets for International Day are now available from the school offices. Tickets must be purchased beforehand in order to attend the event. The event starts at 11:30 and runs until 15:30.
Please prepare your route to the International Day as the Jackaranda FM 2019 Spring Walk is scheduled on the same day. A number of roads will be closed and traffic diverted in and around Loftus Versveld Park and Stadium as well as Brooklyn and Waterkloof areas. The following streets will be affected: Park; Villa; Burnett; Rupert; Main; Heloma; Albert; Crown; Aries; and some parts of Rigel Avenue. Parents are asked to be aware of this and allow extra time for traffic delays.
We look forward to seeing everyone at this family event. Families are welcome to dress up in their National Costumes and Cultural Attire on the day.
Pretoria Art Association Pottery Market
There will be a lovely pottery market at the Art Gallery (Mackie Street) on Saturday 14 September during the morning. Families attending the International Day are also cordially invited to attend this market and view the beautiful pottery which will be on display and for purchase.
National Dress on National Days
We remind all our families that children may come to school wearing their country’s traditional clothing on the National Day or Independence Day of their country.
Spring Holiday
School closes at 12:00 midday on Friday 20 September 2019 for the Spring Holiday. School reopens for Term 4 on Monday 7 October 2019.

Junior Camp Sunday 23rd to Friday 28th February 2020 Grade 3 -7 children

Stage Production 2020
Dates have been confirmed for 9 – 12 December 2020, with evening performances on 11 and 12 December 2020. This involves all children at the primary campus. The Stage Production takes place at The Atterbury Theatre.

Horse Riding Achievement
We are proud to acknowledge Jessika Joubert (Grade 00) for her wonderful achievements at her horse riding and show-jumping. Jessika has been selected and will compete in the Tots-Pops-Crosses Show-Jumping Event at the Cornerstone Equestrian Centre SA on 8 September 2019. We are very proud of Jessika and wish her the very best at the competition.
Welcoming Party for New Reception Year Children
On Friday, 1st November, the current Grade 6 students will host a welcoming party for the new Reception Year children who will start their primary school journey at Courtney House in January 2020. Children who are currently in Grade 00 will attend this party at the primary school campus.

Cycle Test and Mock Examinations
All students have received test schedules. Cycle Tests and Mock Exams will take place from 5 – 13 September. We wish our children the very best for these cycle tests.
Spring Day Dress Up
Children may wear civvies to school on Monday 2nd September for Spring Day. We look forward to seeing a colourful, bright and beautiful array of Spring colours and floral themes on this day.
Primary Checkpoint Examinations and Grade 6
Grade 6 students and their parents have received detailed information about their examinations and expectations for the next few months.
Thank you to Teacher Cara for her interesting and amusing tour of the College Campus on Wednesday 28 August whereby the Grade 6 students were introduced to the campus, their examination venue and provided with important information pertaining to their Cambridge Examinations.
Paving and Parking
Paving of an outside play area, at the primary campus, will commence on Monday 2 September. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause as some parking spaces for parents may be taken up for a few days. The outside eating areas are being upgraded to make it more comfortable for the children.
Health Department Visit
On Thursday 5 September, the Department of Health Nurses will visit the primary campus during the school morning. Children, whose parents have given consent, will receive deworming medication. Unfortunately, no immunisations or other health checks will be administered on this day. Parents who require these services are advised to approach their local GP or Clinic.
Parents are asked to please ensure that children are well-groomed, clean and neatly dressed on this day.
Payments for Camp 2020
A reminder to parents that the second payment (for those parents who did not make a full, once-off payment) for the adventure/leadership camp in February, is due in October.

Student of the Week
Each week, a child from each class is identified as ‘Student of the Week’ for showing excellence or great progress in various areas. The children are awarded badges at line-up. There is a display near the school office where the children who receive badges are acknowledged.
Congratulations to the students who received badges for ‘Most Well Spoken, Articulate Student’. This week’s award will be for ‘Most Enthusiastic/Motivated Student’.

Mark Schedules
The 2019 examination writers’ Mock Examinations have come to an end. Their marks will be sent via e-mail to their parents on Monday the 2nd of September.
Holiday Classes
Please take note that the College teachers will present extra holiday lessons to the 2019 groups. These lessons are of high importance as it is to provide students with an opportunity for effective contact time with their subject teachers before their final examinations, which begin the first week of October.
Details of dates and times will be organised soon and parents shall receive a holiday timetable, for their child, via e-mail.
