        Step 2: Interview

On receipt of your application for admission form, the Admissions team will contact you to schedule an interview with the School Principal.  It is preferable if the prospective student/s and both parents are able to attend.  During the interview, parents and the prospective student’s will be given a tour of the school campus and will have an opportunity to ask questions.

In addition to an interview, the school requires that the prospective families applying for a place at Courtney House (Reception Year to Year 6) or Courtney College (Year 7 to Year 12, Checkpoint, IGCSE and AS/A Level) –  provide copies of the student’s previous years mark schedules.

In the event that the prospective family is unable to attend an interview due to location or circumstance, this part of the application process will be handled either via a Skype interview or through the exchange of emails.

        Step 3: School Visit

On completion of a successful interview, the prospective student/s will be invited for a school visit.  The prospective student/s will be required to join the class for which they are applying and attend all lessons for the day of their visit.  Throughout the course of the school day, the prospective student will be informally assessed.  This process allows all parties to make an informed decision as to whether the admission process should be completed.

International families who are not able to visit the school prior to completing the enrollment process will be required to submit all past academic records and the prospective student/s may be required to complete an entrance evaluation.

Step 4: Completion of Paper Work

Should all parties agree to continue, the prospective family will be required to complete, sign and submit the following contracts and forms:

        • Contract (1 per prospective student)
        • Medical Form (1 per prospective student)
        • Subject Selection Form
          • Foreign or second languages selection form (Tiny Tots to Year 8 – Checkpoint level)
          • IGCSE subject selection form
          • A/AS Level subject selection form
        • Courtney College student policy (College students only)

In addition the copies of the following must be submitted:

        • Parent’s / Guardian’s passport (international families) or ID book (South African families)
        • Prospective student’s passport (international families or ID book (South African students older than sixteen) or birth certificate (South African children younger than sixteen)

        Step 5: Confirmation of Acceptance

Once all paper work has been submitted, the school will issue an invoice.

Registration will only be considered final once payment of the admin and registration fee has been paid and receipted.  At this time, the school will issue a formal letter of acceptance and if required letters for visa applications.

It should be noted that we are only able to accommodate 20 students per grade.  In the event that a class is full, prospective families will be placed on a waiting list.
